Cherylynn Hernandez-Rutz, LCSW
Cherylynn (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Level III Psychotherapist at MSC,
who specializes in trauma and works with adults, adolescents (16+), veterans, first responders,
and sex-trafficked survivors. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (EDIT-I) and trained in
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP),
and Perinatal Mental Health to treat postpartum depression and anxiety.
Cherylynn graduated from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana with a Bachelor’s in
Organizational Communication and received her Master in Social Work from the University of
Colorado Colorado Springs.
She offers compassionate psychotherapy sessions tailored to your unique needs and goals and
integrates evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance
Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, to empower clients
and facilitate their journey toward mental, emotional, and spiritual restoration.
Cherylynn’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, emphasizing
compassion, and a profound comprehension of the impact of trauma on individuals’ lives.
She is committed to empowering clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, eating
disorders, relational challenges, and trauma to heal and flourish. She is dedicated to providing a
safe and supportive environment by tailoring each individual’s needs based on their specific
trauma history and mental health concerns as they navigate the healing process, regain control
over their lives, and thrive in various areas of their lives.
Cherylynn enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and a variety of hobbies, including making jewelry,
crocheting, and creating abstract art. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her children
and grandchildren.
