Amanda Smith, LSW
Amanda (she/her) is passionate about fostering empowerment and creativity in each client’s
healing process. She strongly believes in every person’s ability to heal and live their best lives.
She utilizes person-centered practices grounded in mindful based approaches, allowing for
each client to develop their unique set of tools to address trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD
and life transitions. Amanda is especially passionate about supporting parents through
developmental transitions, parents who have neurodivergent children and diverse populations
including LGBTQA+ and First Nation Tribal members. Amanda supports clients in discovering
and developing their individual power to integrate their healing and skills into their everyday
lives. Amanda is a Licensed Social Worker and MSC Level II Psychotherapist. She is accepting
new clients aged 18+ for telehealth only.
Amanda has had the privilege of working for over 20 years with diverse populations of all ages
experiencing developmental and generational trauma within home visiting and community
health settings. She received her bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Northland
College. Her first master’s degree is in Transpersonal Psychology from Sophia University, in
2007. In 2022, Amanda also obtained a second Masters of Social Work from Walden University.
During her career she has developed community response programs in rural settings to
increase natural supports to families and home visiting programs to provide supports to parents
experiencing neurodiversity and special needs. Amanda is currently a clinical supervisor for two
home visiting grants at a local community mental health center which is contributing to the
efforts in ending homelessness. She believes in the power of becoming our own best friends
and is a trained meditation guide. Amanda strives to support clients in developing a healing
system that is integrated into their everyday lives.
Amanda has worked directly with First Nation Tribal members on tribal land to address
generational trauma and reintegrate cultural practices into health systems. Amanda is dedicated
to providing safe spaces to Transgender, Non-binary, gender diverse and LGBTQA+ clients to
lessen barriers to care and mental health resources.
In her private practice, Amanda focuses on supporting clients to develop a sense of whole
wellness utilizing dialectical behavioral therapy, ACT, mindful based skill building and somatic
integration practices. Utilizing a solution focused approaches, Amanda strives to co-create
healing spaces with clients so that they can achieve their goals and reach their highest
potential.
In her personal time, Amanda can be found taking mini adventures into the mountains and
surrounding wilderness with her family. She enjoys taking her knitting along on backpacking
trips, adding to the fairy gardens scattered around local neighborhoods, creating stories of
fantastical faraway lands with her child, and keeping up with her music loving friends.
