Medication Management
Are You Interested In Trying Medication To Improve Your Mental Health?
Have you been struggling with anxiety, depression, or another mental health issue?
Are your symptoms starting to impact your daily functioning and hold you back from your goals?
Would you like to try medication to help you manage your emotional challenges?
Maybe you’ve been in therapy for a while, and although it’s been helpful, your progress is slower than you expected. Perhaps you’re considering other treatment options and wondering if you should have more support. You may have already tried medication, but found that it wasn’t right for you or that your provider didn’t properly understand your concerns. Perhaps the specialists you had in the past didn’t communicate with each other, so you never got the answers you needed. As a result, you may be looking for more collaborative and team-oriented support.
You Might Face Significant Barriers To Mental Health Care
Maybe you’ve been told that you should try medication, but due to access and convenience barriers, you weren’t able to follow through. Perhaps providers just weren’t available, didn’t return your calls, or couldn’t accept your insurance. Or maybe they simply didn’t offer treatment for your specific needs.
If this is the case, then we encourage you to connect with us. Here at Mindful Springs, we offer comprehensive medication management services for clients who are looking to take their mental health care to the next level. Our practice has both therapists and psychiatric providers on staff to ensure that you get the most well-rounded treatment possible.
Many People Struggle To Get The Medication They Need
Anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, postpartum mood disorders, and many other mental health challenges are most effectively treated with a combination of therapy and medication. Nonetheless, many of the clients who come to us have struggled to find providers that understand mental health or can help them make progress.
In our community, care tends to be very fragmented and disjointed—treatment providers aren’t well-connected and there’s often little communication between them. Therapists say the problem is one thing while psychiatrists say it’s another, leaving clients at a loss for answers. What’s more, there is so much misinformation out there about medication. Many clients have trouble sifting through it and knowing who to believe, especially when it comes to side effects.
The good news is that Mindful Springs takes a collaborative, team-oriented approach to the treatment process. Our therapists work closely with our providers so that there is communication between all parties and everyone is on the same page.

Medication Management Can Help With A Wide Range Of Mental Health Issues
Having consistent quality care can make a huge difference in your life, and our practice is committed to providing that. We offer therapy and medication management for clients wrestling with anxiety, phobias, OCD, treatment-resistant depression, eating disorders, postpartum issues, and many other mental and emotional challenges. And in addition to traditional medicine, we provide ketamine-assisted treatment for anyone interested in alternative healing options.
Our medical providers will take the time to conduct a full assessment of your current symptoms, onset of symptoms, mental health history, and experiences with past medications. We will always go at a pace that’s right for you and work to ensure that treatment happens on your own terms. This means that we’ll never push you to try medication—it is entirely your choice and you have agency over your care. Some clients find that counseling is powerful enough on its own, but medication can often act as a helpful supplement to the therapeutic process.
How Medication Management At Our Practice Works
After completing an intake and meeting with your medical provider, the two of you will review your symptoms and utilize any appropriate assessments. Your provider may order some labs if they feel that testing should be done prior to prescribing medication. Generally, our clients receive a prescription during their first or second appointment with their provider, but this is something that’s decided on a case-by-case basis.
The first appointment is usually an hour long, while follow-ups are 15 to 30 minutes and are held every four to six months. Your provider and your whole treatment team will closely monitor any symptom changes and side effects. There will be consistent communication between your therapist and your provider so that you get the best of both therapy and medication management.
In the end, we have seen so many clients benefit from taking medication as an add-on treatment to therapy. Medication may not be right for everyone, but it can help you boost your mood, increase your energy, and feel more grounded in your daily life.
You May Have Some Questions About Psychiatric Medication Management…
Will insurance cover my medication treatment?
Our psychiatric providers accept United, Aetna, Cigna, and Anthem BCBS of Colorado. We also have private pay options for clients whose insurance we don’t accept.
Shouldn’t I be able to work through my problems without medication?
There is no shame in seeking help and using medication to help you tackle life’s challenges. Sometimes mental health problems are too complex or deeply ingrained to work through by yourself. Besides, going on medication doesn’t mean you have to be on it forever. Oftentimes, our clients will try a medication temporarily until they find it easier to manage symptoms either with therapy or on their own.
How long will it take before I start feeling better?
Everyone’s timetable is different. We encourage you to be patient with yourself and understand that your healing journey is uniquely your own. That said, if you’re utilizing therapy and medication together and your treatment is effective, you can generally expect to experience some relief within two to six weeks. Your provider will work closely with you to assess the efficacy of your treatment plan and make changes as needed.
