Cam Murphy, LPCC

Cam (they/them) provides online therapy to individuals, families, and couples as a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate under supervision and an MSC Level II Therapist. They are a somatic psychotherapist, incorporating the body, mind, and soul as well as nervous system regulation into the therapy process with each client. Cam is also EMDR trained and practicing under the supervision of an EMDR certified therapist. In addition, their therapy approach can incorporate systems of oppression and how they affect each and every one of us. Cam is a member of the lgbtqia2s+ and welcomes and enjoys their work with marginalized folks.

Cam, LPCC (they/them) studied at Naropa University (Boulder, CO) in the Somatic Body Psychotherapy department. In the therapy process, they utilize the wisdom that bodies are a part of our lived experience and they strongly believe the body has a place within the therapeutic journey, as the body holds memories to which the mind doesn’t always have access. Cam’s somatic therapy approach is through nervous system regulation while incorporating relational, present moment awareness. Before diving head first into trauma, Cam will work with their clients to develop trust, safety, and establish boundaries. Your therapy with Cam will incorporate emotional regulation, present moment awareness, and mindfulness. In addition, they are trained through the Maiberger institute in EMDR, certified 200 hour yoga teacher and enjoy incorporating restorative and yin yoga into their client’s journey. Cam is also trained and certified as an AcuDetox provider through NADA.

Beyond the virtual therapy office, Cam enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, and spending time outside as much as possible. It is a mission of theirs to have the outdoors be as accessible and available for all bodies! Some of the activities they enjoy are climbing, hiking, camping, and snowshoeing.
