Maggie Van Huystee

Getting started with therapy can be the hardest step. Maggie Van Huystee, LCSW, PMH-C, works with adolescents ages 12 and up and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, and questions of identity. She has a particular focus on perinatal mental health and work with caregivers and infants together. She also supports people affected by domestic violence.

Maggie takes time to understand you as a whole person, including your relationships, values, and the pressures around you. Together, you can decide whether it would help to process difficult experiences, explore patterns, build skills, or work through a specific situation. Her approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, drawing on ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and attachment-focused work.

A quick hello from Maggie

I began my career in Alaska and have a wide breadth of experience that I believe serves me well in the therapy room. Over the years and across different settings, I have continued to grow as a clinician and gradually discovered my niche. I have a deep appreciation for the relationships my clients and I cultivate and feel fortunate to be a witness to their stories.

Outside of the office, I love word games, coffee, and weird facts. I am on an ongoing mission to find the best ice cream in town, suggestions are always welcome. I tend to get sucked into crime TV shows and good books. I enjoy time with my family, and always look forward to Fall and the cooler weather.
